Cinessance, a new OTT service dedicated to French film, turns to 24i for end-to-end streaming solution
Cinessance will bring a library of old and new cinema content to fans of French culture around the world who are currently underserved by the major streaming services
Amsterdam, Netherlands, 30 September 2021- 24i, the video streaming expert, has been selected to provide its end-to-end streaming platform to Cinessance, the first globally-accessible VOD platform dedicated to French cinema.
24i will supply its Smart Video backend, Smart Apps front-end applications and Backstage content and application management interface, together with CDN services and an off-the-shelf integration with subscriber management capabilities from Cleeng. This fully cloud-based solution covers all elements of the Cinessance end-to-end workflow from content ingest and management to the applications on multiple devices.
Cinessance aims to launch in the US and Canada later this year with a library of hundreds of classic and modern movies which will be available on web browsers, Android and iOS, with support for casting via Chromecast and AirPlay. Expansion to further devices, additional international markets and a catalogue of up to 500 titles is planned for 2022. The service will feature all genres from drama, comedy and action films to animated children’s movies. Consumers will be able to choose between renting individual titles (TVOD) and taking out a monthly subscription (SVOD).
