Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 15, 2014 – Dutch TV app developer 24i and German set-top box manufacturer ABOX42 have formed a partnership to jointly bring 24i’s ‘Smart Operator’ product to the market.
The Smart Operator is a TV Everywhere solution offering a unified interface across a range of connected devices such as Smart TVs, game consoles, tablets, smartphones and the ABOX42 set-top box. The product delivers a complete TV experience with many features, including Restart TV, Network PVR and personalized user profiles & recommendations.
At present the companies are collaborating to implement this product over a Unicast IPTV connection for German fibre operator Deutsche Glasfaser.
“We are happy to work with ABOX42 in this project. Their M20 box has very strong performance and a rich SDK that allows us to deploy the Smart Operator smoothly”, says 24i CEO Martijn van Horssen.
ABOX42 CEO Matthias Greve is equally content with the cooperation: “This is a very interesting partnership. 24i has a strong background in Smart TV and our set-top box provides a solution for non-connected TV sets. Their Smart Operator product is really setting the standard for modern TV interfaces.”
Both 24i and ABOX42 are exhibiting at IBC2014 in hall 14, where they demonstrate the Smart Operator and other TV solutions.
Five successful days of meetings, demos and happy hours in RAI Amsterdam.
